Psalm 145 Devo
If you can’t tell, God’s faithfulness is an idea we’re batting around a lot at WLC this week. I wrote a blog about it and I thought I’d put together kind of a devotional about it as well. The scripture I point to the most when talking about the faithfulness of God is Psalm 145. Take some time to read through it!
The idea of faithfulness is an interesting one. When we think about it, we consider the past. Yet, it has everything to do with the future. It’s so easy to look back and say “yes. God is faithful.” but sometimes it’s so hard to look forward and know that God will continue to be. But if we look at scripture, if we look at the character of God, if we look at our lives, we find that it’s true. God is faithful.
As we read Psalm 145, we find a hint of the past, looking back on God’s faithfulness, but more than that, we find active statements like these: The lord is gracious and compassionate.. The Lord is good.. The Lord is trustworthy.. The Lord upholds… You open your hand and satisfy…
Here’s what those active statements tell us: God’s faithfulness is now. It is constant. It is always. It’s every day. It’s active.
Read through Psalm 145. Then pray through it. There’s something special about praying the scriptures. When you do, you’re praying the prayers of generations. You’re praying the inspired words of God. You’re praying prayers that you can be confident align with the will of God. But more on that later.
What are your thoughts on Psalm 145?
