Matt Stinton - Practical Songwriting Tips

This week I had a great conversation with Matt Stinton, founder of The Songwriter's Advocate. The Songwriter's advocate is an online school for songwriters and worship leaders. Matt gave great insight into the songwriting process, how to evaluate your songs, and more.

Here are a few of my favorite thoughts from this episode:

  1. Writers block is optional.

  2. The parts of your brain that criticize and the parts of your brain that create don't work well together.

  3. It's better to write a bad song than no song at all. You can fix a bad song.
