Leadership Tip
Leadership Tip: wait until Monday to reflect.
Early on in my ministry I did the majority of my reflection just moments after service. Or on some weeks, moments after leaving the stage. That was a terrible strategy. Sometimes, when things went well, it led to some pretty prideful thinking. Other times, when things didn’t go well, it led to a lot of self doubt. Either way it distracted me through the rest of the service, in the next one, or when I was trying to relax later that day.
Here’s what I learned to do: Celebrate the Win.
Very simply, the ONE particular win that I celebrate immediately after getting off stage is that Jesus was glorified.
Then I stop thinking. Don’t think about the great moments. And don’t think about the bad ones. Wait until Monday to analyze.
I probably should’ve posted this yesterday (Sunday), but take it as advice for today and this week!
I’d love to know how this has worked for you! Do you do something different? We’d love to know!
